AMATUS HEALTH AWARDED BEHAVIORAL HEALTH CARE ACCREDITATION
FROM THE JOINT COMMISSION
EACH OF THE 15 SUBSTANCE USE TREATMENT FACILITIES ACROSS THE COUNTRY IS NOW ACCREDITED
OWINGS MILLS, MD March 22, 2021 – Amatus Health has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for Behavioral Health Care Accreditation by demonstrating continuous compliance with its performance standards. The Gold Seal is a symbol of quality that reflects anorganization’s commitment to providing safe and quality patient care.
The Joint Commission’s standards are developed in consultation with health care experts, providers, measurement experts, and patients. They are informed by scientific literature and expert consensus to help health care organizations measure, assess and improve performance. The surveyors also conduct onsite observations and interviews.
“As a private accreditor, The Joint Commission surveys health care organizations to protect the public by identifying deficiencies in care and working with those organizations to correct them as quickly and sustainably as possible,” says Mark Pelletier, RN, MS, chief operating officer, Accreditation and Certification Operations, and chief nursing executive, The Joint Commission. “We commend Amatus Health for its continuous quality improvement efforts in patient safety and quality of care.”
Amatus Health Vice President of Clinical Services Avi Burstein is confident that the new accreditation will help Amatus expand its mission to bring affordable behavioral health care to as many people as possible.
“Amatus has always aspired to provide the highest level of clinical care possible, and now we can ensure it,” Burstein said. “We are excited to partner with the Joint Commission to reach the highest level of clinical excellence and safety.”
